Will I ever be successful?
QUESTION: I have no problem coming up with ideas for a home business. I've started four different ones but I've never been successful. I lose interest when a business doesn't take off right away and wind up letting it go. A few months later, I start a new business. Will I ever be successful?
ANSWER: Most moms have trouble thinking up home businesses to start. You seem to have no problem thinking of ideas but you haven't been able to persevere. The day you realize that the success of your business depends on you and very little on outside influences, will be the day you become successful.
As we write this, it is Success Week here at HomeWorkingMom.com. In the past few days, we've come to the conclusion that success really is an inside job. Every thought you have, every choice you make and all of your habits play a major role in your future success.
In addition to your start-up idea and entrepreneurial spirit, you need the knowledge to market your business. Learning about marketing and developing a habit of doing at least one thing each day to get the word out about your business will make a big difference in your bottom line.
The word "marketing" may be intimidating, but in reality marketing is not difficult and can actually be fun when you know what to do. Marketing is everything you do to promote a business including advertising, and public relations.
Before you can begin a marketing program, you need to identify your target audience by answering this question: Who will be interested in your product or service? Uninformed business owners look for the ways to advertise or publicize their businesses to a wide, general audience. Marketing can be much more effective when you put your business in front of a well-defined niche market. Write a description of your potential customer and then determine the publications they read, the places they go and everything about their buying habits.
When you take the time to learn about marketing and every other aspect of running a business you will maximize your chances for success. Then, don't give up, no matter what. As long as you keep trying, you will have new chances to succeed. As Bill Bradley once said, "Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."

4-SUCCESS STEPS: Do You Have Your "Cheerleader" Yet?by Mary Jo Wehniainen
Everyone in the world has the ability to change their life for the better. There are success stories of people from every imaginable walk of life who've defied the odds, and have PROVEN that anything's possible.
We've heard them all ... single moms getting off welfare and securing great jobs; women who were known for their delicious cookies creating multi-million dollar corporations; overweight people with low self-esteem turning into slim, trim, motivational powerhouses; people with severe physical handicaps pushing well past their own obvious limitations!
Once they've arrived at their destination, the course they traveled may appear to an outsider like it wasn't too hard, but along the way there were undoubtedly times every single one of them felt like turning back.
What's the key? The thing that kept them going when they felt like giving up …
There are many things to consider. The thoughts and beliefs they focused on, the things they continually told themselves, their determination, the influences they allowed to fill their thoughts - books they read, tape programs, inspirational stories or even a role model that made an impact on them.

So, my question to you is this. Do you have a support system in place?

What are the potential roadblocks that might hinder your success?
Lack of momentum, getting off-track, that nasty little voice in your head telling you all the reasons you "can't", inefficient skills, or maybe negative people around you?
Now think about who or what you can create as your support system. A person or a group who can help keep you on track as you navigate the obstacles you realize may be lurking.
There are many support groups for help in breaking difficult habits. There are aerobics classes at the gym and willing instructors who'd love to help keep you on track. If you run a home business, there are support groups on the Internet as well as group support meetings via teleconference. There are all sorts of professional support meetings for women, business professionals, salespeople, HR Managers, just about anything you can think of!
There may even be a positive friend or family member who believes in what you're doing, and would be willing to fill this role for you.
Think about your options, and initiate a first call or meeting with one of your potential support team members TODAY!
Although your personal success is ultimately up to you, having your own cheerleader may make the road much easier.
